Based on the Weleda Global Garden Blog we created a hardcover book. With images all taken during the Global Garden journey, Lauren leads the viewer to various Weleda places around the world, introduces interesting people and shares Weleda's philosophy and values.
Weleda opened workshop doors and garden gates and invited us to discover the world behind them. During her three-month trip, Lauren Doolan from Australia, winner of the international Global Garden Challenge, visited eleven special Weleda locations. Her mission was to be the eyes, ears and hands of the reader and to guide them through the Weleda world.
Lauren filled the social media channels and the blog with authentic content. Based on this blog, the goal of the Travelogue is to make the adventure trip around the world a tangible experience and to translate an emotional journey into a physical and sustainable product. Each country is presented in an individual chapter. We let the pictures take effect and supplement the stories of the places, people, plants and special features with Laurens' stories or stylistically highlighted interviews.
Our methodology of designing projects was lived in the book's creation process. Discovering structures, defining contents, developing layouts and texts up to the delivery of the printed book. Weleda values such as sustainability and closeness to nature have always been at the forefront of elements such as color design and paper selection.
The book was photographed in a simple and unobtrusive environment in order to present the naturalness, colorfulness and high quality of the book. Selected perspectives capture the attention to detail and diversity of the design.
